Job Details
The Barista Carry Out Crew member is a dedicated member of the Service Team. They work with intention to oversee each aspect of the guests' carry-out experience. They are an expert in coffee and tea services as well as all menu offerings. In addition to completing guest orders, the crew member will assist in cashiering and greeting guests, stocking shelves, running food to guests, and keeping The Boro neat, clean, and organized at all times.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
Welcomes guests with genuine hospitality in-person & on the phone
Knowledgeable about all menu offerings, promotions, specials, and all current programs
Always selling tomorrow’s experience
Expert salesperson: takes initiative to offer pairings, suggests alternatives to sold-out items, and crafts meaningful experiences (no meal is complete without dessert!)
Thoughtful and courteous, always going above and beyond providing exceptional hospitality and creating repeat business
Knowledgeable about our coffee, tea and beverage inventory in order to educate and inform customers about the quality, value, story and features of each product
Remain current and knowledgeable on all product
Understands and can operate Upserve POS
Experience using phone functions (hold, transfer, caller ID lookup)
Answers FAQs about the restaurant, carryout, and events taking place
Receives, transcribes, and processes phone and online orders
Recovers mistakes with soignée and finesse, and always knows the solution (or knows who does)
Coordinates pickup (incl. curbside) and delivery and accurately records all necessary information
Aware of the flow of service and prioritizes accordingly
Able to problem solve, minimizes errors and strives to perfect the carryout experience
Verifies complete and correct orders
Maintains a clean and pristine work space at all times
Sets the next team member up for success

Requirements
1 year of barista experience
Hands-on experience in POS duties
Consistent in performance and reliability
Able to work in sync with the flow of the restaurant
Compensation Details
Hourly rate $8 + tips. Estimated average tips $15.00 - $18.00/hr
